Ingredients
1 package PERDUE® Fresh Ground Turkey (alternate: PERDUE® Fresh Ground Chicken) Salt and pepper to taste 2 onions, thinly sliced 2 tablespoons olive oil Sliced Cheddar cheese 8 slices rye bread
Instructions
- If grilling, grease grill. Preheat grill or broiler.
- In medium bowl, combine turkey, salt and pepper until blended. Shape into 4 oval burgers (to fit on rye bread).
- In small bowl, toss together onions, oil, salt and pepper until evenly coated.
- Grill or broil burgers, turning occasionally, 10 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted in center registers 165°F. Grill onions in grill wok or on grill screen, stirring occasionally, until tender. When burgers are done, top each with cheese and grill just until melted. Grill rye bread until toasted.
- To serve, place cheeseburger on toasted bread and top with grilled onions and remaining slice of bread.
