Ingredients
1 package PERDUE® Whole Turkey 10-14 lbs. Salt and Pepper 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar 1 cup chicken stock 1 tablespoon sherry (alternate: water or chicken broth) 6 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons fresh thyme 1 bag (16 ounce) bag frozen whole small onions, thawed 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Place oven rack in bottom third of oven and preheat to 325°F.
- Tuck wing tips under and tie legs together with kitchen sting. Place turkey in large roasting pan with water in the bottom. Season with salt and pepper. Cover loosely with foil. Roast turkey for 2 1/2 hours.
- While turkey is roasting, combine vinegar, stock, sherry, honey and thyme in small saucepan. Boil and reduce by half.
- Remove foil from turkey. Place onions around turkey. Pour glaze over turkey and continue to roast, basting every 20 minutes with pan juices until meat thermometer inserted in thickest part of thigh registers 180°F.
- Remove turkey from oven, cover with foil and let stand at least 20 minutes before carving.
- Serve with pan juices and glazed onions.
