1. In a gallon-size zippered plastic bag, combine olive oil, BBQ seasoning rub, lime juice and zest, and garlic and mix well; season with salt and pepper, if desired. Add drumsticks and toss to coat. Close and refrigerate chicken in marinade for 15-30 minutes (or longer in refrigerator).
2. Preheat broiler or grill to medium-high heat. Cook drumsticks 14-16 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and golden brown (thermometer inserted in the thickest part of drumstick registers 180°F).
3. Remove from grill or broiler and sprinkle chicken with cilantro and serve with BBQ sauce on the side, if desired.
