If the Perdue family has been passionate about perfecting their own breed of chicken, they've been just as passionate about ensuring their flocks are raised with the best of care. Local farm families care for Perdue chickens under strict standards for food safety, bird health, poultry welfare and environmental stewardship with close supervision by Perdue flock supervisors. Perdue does not use antibiotics for growth promotion in our chickens, nor do we use any antibiotics continuously for any reason. No artificial ingredients, added hormones or steroids are ever used in the raising of our flocks.

State-of-the-Art Housing

All Perdue chickens and turkeys are raised in state-of-the-art housing with heating and cooling systems, so they're protected against extreme weather, wild animals and disease. They eat and drink at will where they're free to roam around inside these houses.

High-Quality Feed

PERDUE® chickens are somewhat more yellow and this is natural. All breeds of chicken grown in the United States have naturally yellow skin, but it must be maintained through a healthy diet and careful handling. We feed our chickens only the finest natural grain products, including yellow corn, corn gluten, marigolds, soybean meal, vitamins, bakery meal, and mineral supplements to help maintain their natural yellow skin color.
