Perdue Farms began in 1920 when "Mr. Arthur" Perdue started selling fresh eggs from a flock of hens he raised in the backyard of his Salisbury, Maryland farmhouse. Arthur established Perdue Farms' reputation for quality and integrity with his successful table-egg business.

Arthur's son, Frank, helped the family business switch from eggs to chickens, first by providing baby chicks to local farmers. In 1968, Frank built upon the family tradition of quality by introducing branded chickens—an entirely new concept. Consumers quickly responded, establishing PERDUE® as a brand synonymous not only with high quality, but also with chicken itself!

Frank's son, Jim, grew up in the family business and joined the company in 1983 as a management trainee. In 1991, after working in almost every area of the company, Jim became the third generation Perdue to lead the company – continuing the family's commitment to premium quality.

Today under Jim's leadership PERDUE® products are continually changing to meet the needs of modern families. Yet the company's commitment to the highest quality never changes. Every PERDUE® product and service must meet the family's legacy of superior quality.
