As a fourth-generation, family-owned company, Perdue’s history of supporting farmers spans more than a century. We remain committed to working with small U.S. farm families who raise our animals to the highest standards for welfare and environmental stewardship.
With our vision, “to be the most trusted name in food and agricultural products®,” that trust extends to our farming partners, many of whom represent third, fourth, and fifth generations.
The Perdue Partnership
program overview
With the global population expected to increase to 9.7 billion in the next 30 years, agriculture will need to produce 70% more food by 2050. Today the average age of the American farmer is 58 years old and farm families comprise less than 2% of the total population. The time is now to prepare the next generation of farm leaders to be the torchbearers ready to grow the food that will feed the world.
Perdue is proud to announce a partnership with Growing America’s Farmers to support scholarships and grants for Future Farmers of America (FFA) students planning careers in production agriculture.
the cooley family
The Cooley’s are extremely proud to be a generational farming family for Perdue. With numerous years spent in FFA programs, the entire family is a great testament to the impact their programs can have. As Leighton explains, “You can’t grow a farm in one lifetime. It takes patience, perseverance, passion, and people. Partnerships like Growing America’s Farmers are crucial to cultivating and supporting new and young farmers who will continue to feed American families for generations to come.”
Growing America’s Farmers is a cause marketing promotional program that utilizes in-store retail promotions to support scholarships and grants for Future Farmers of America students planning careers in production agriculture. For participating retailers, suppliers like Perdue set aside a percentage of sales for designated products that is donated to the National Future Farmers of America Foundation and respective state organizations.
