The 80s saw the introduction of the PERDUE DONE IT!® line of fully cooked products and PERDUE® turkey.

1980s

Perdue acquires a turkey operation and the company's first cooking plant. The company expands into fully cooked items and turkey products for retail and foodservice customers.

An oilseed refinery and new soybean processing plant in Salisbury support the company's growing grain and oilseed business.

In 1983, Jim Perdue, Frank's son, joins the company as a management trainee in quality control at the Salisbury plant.
