Edna Repress, Quality Assurance Lead Person We're committed to the well-being of our associatesEver since company founder Arthur Perdue hired his first associate in 1930, our company has recognized that our people are essential to our success. That philosophy continues to drive our concern for our associates.
Paula Hartig, Perdue Wellness Center Nurse Wellness programs and comprehensive benefitsPerdue Farms is the only company in our industry and one of only a few businesses in the country to offer associates and their dependents access to low-cost primary care through fully equipped onsite Wellness Centers staffed by health care providers from the local community. The Wellness Centers are part of the company's comprehensive benefits strategy, which includes medical, dental, vision and health benefits; life and disability insurance; and a 401(k) savings plan with company-funded contributions. Our company-wide Health Improvement Program (HIP) is helping our associates get "HIP" by eliminating lifestyle risk factors and managing controllable diseases, and by creating an environment of health in the workplace.
Chris Wilson is a Quality Assurance Coordinator at one of Perdue's feed mills. Safety and ergonomicsOur safety programs are designed to create a "culture of safety" that involves every associate. At each of our plants, Safety Teams, which include hourly associates, continuously monitor the work environment and are empowered to halt production if they see a dangerous condition. We were the first poultry company to establish an ergonomics program and our cooperation with government agencies laid the groundwork for the rest of the industry.
