Ingredients
1 PERDUE® OVEN STUFFER® Whole Roaster 3/4 cup herb and garlic marinade 2 Rome apple, cored and diced (alternate: any cooking apples) 1/2 cup raisins 1 medium onion, diced 1 can (14 ounces) chicken broth 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
- Remove giblets and pour marinade over OVEN STUFFER® Roaster. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour to overnight, basting occasionally with marinade.
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Place chicken in roasting pan. Arrange apples, raisins and onions around bird. Pour chicken broth over apple mixture.
- Roast 2 to 2 1/2 hours, until PERFECT ROAST® Thermometer pops up and meat thermometer inserted in thickest part of thigh registers 180° F.
- Remove from roasting pan and set aside. Discard PERFECT ROAST® Thermometer.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water; stir well. Place roasting pan over stove burners and bring to boil over medium heat. Slowly pour in cornstarch mixture, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat when gravy reaches desired consistency. Serve with roaster.
