Ingredients
1 package PERDUE® Fresh Ground Chicken (alternate: PERDUE® Fresh Ground Turkey) 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1/2 cup chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 jar (26 ounces) spaghetti sauce 12 ounces regular spaghetti or pasta of your choice Parmesan cheese and parsley to garnish (optional) (*see notes for Meatballs below)
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken or turkey, onion, garlic, salt, oregano and pepper. Cook stirring often, using spoon to break up chicken or turkey into crumbles, for 5 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain then add in spaghetti sauce and heat thoroughly.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.
- To serve, ladle meat sauce over cooked pasta. Serve with Parmesan cheese and parsley, if desired.
* Instructions for Spaghetti with Meatballs: - In a large bowl, combine 1 package PERDUE® Fresh Ground Chicken or PERDUE® Fresh Ground Turkey, 1 cup fresh bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons minced onion, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Mix well. Chill in freezer for 10 minutes then shape into 1-inch meatballs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meatballs and cook, stirring often about 5 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain then add spaghetti sauce and heat thoroughly.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions. To serve, ladle meatballs and sauce over pasta. Serve with Parmesan cheese and parsley, if desired.
