Ingredients
1 PERDUE® OVEN STUFFER® Whole Roaster 2 tablespoons German or Dijon style coarse-grain mustard Salt and ground pepper to taste 1 small apple, cored and cut into quarters 1 small onion, peeled and cut into quarters
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Remove giblets from chicken. Rub inside and out with mustard and season with salt and pepper. Place apple and onion inside cavity.
- Place roaster; breast-side up, in a shallow roasting pan in oven. Cook 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until PERFECT ROAST® Thermometer pops up and juices run clear, not pink, when thigh is pierced. A meat thermometer inserted in thickest part of thigh should register 180° F.
- Remove and discard PERFECT ROAST® Thermometer before carving.
